A Swinging Good Time

It's been a few weeks since I've scrapped but today craft/hobby time was listed as one of the tasks in the Clean House Calendar so I spent a few minutes playing.

This is a kit I picked up a few years ago at Scrapbook Generation.  (Beautiful Dreamer)  A few weeks ago I dug it and a few others out and edited & printed photos for them.  Today, I put this one together.

These are photos of my daughter at 4 (now she's almost 10) swinging on the playground my husband built for her birthday that year.

How did you spend your craft/hobby time today?

Laundry Room Organization

Clean and organize the laundry room was one of the tasks listed on the Daily Task List for today in the Clean House Calendar.  So I wanted to share how I have organized the cabinets above my washer & dryer.

I am blessed to have 2 cabinets hanging above my washer & dryer where I store my laundry and cleaning supplies.
I keep these supplies on the lower shelves and easy to reach.  On the upper shelves I have baskets (from Wal-Mart) that I use to store clothes pins, batteries, miscellaneous house hold items, sewing supplies, chargers, change rollers and at the present time some office supplies.

Here is a shot inside my sew supply basket.  I'm not a seamstress or a quilter so I only have the need for a few supplies to make easy repairs.  I have divided small like items into baggies to make them easier to find and then I just throw it all into the basket and place it on the shelf all nice and neat.

My labels aren't fancy.  I just printed them on card stock, cut them out, hole punched them and tied them on with ribbon.

If you would like to make some for your home and would like a copy of mine here is a PDF.

If you don't have a copy of the Clean House Calendar for 2013 you can check it out HERE.

Have a great day, B.

New Year, Renewed Goals

Happy New Year!  Can you believe it's 2013?

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle my journey to getting my life clean, lean and serene.  It's simply what I'm doing.  The good, the bad and the oh so messy.  You're weclome follow along.  I hope you find inspiration here.

I love New Year's Day because it give me the chance to start over.  A clean slate.  So with that in mind here are my renewed goals for the year:
  • Deepen my faith and strengthen my relationship with God.
  • Strengthen my relationships with my family.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Get and keep my home clean and organized.
  • Stretch my weekly budget using coupons.
  • Develop a plan and prepare for emergencies.
  • Complete at least 2 scrapbook layouts per week.
What are your goals?  B.
